Dr. Anne Eylar joined Hunkeler Eye Institute as an optometrist in October 2020. She is a Midwest native and was born and raised in St. Louis, where she completed her B.A. in Psychology and minor in Biology, graduating summa cum laude. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2008. During her academic career, she received scholarships for both academic and clinical excellence. As part of her training, she completed ocular disease externships at the Kansas City VA and Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada, Oklahoma. Following graduation, she worked in private optometric practice in Georgia and South Carolina for two years. Since 2010, she has enjoyed working in practice with ophthalmologists. Dr. Eylar is committed to performing thorough exams and is skilled in optimizing vision through optical correction. She met her husband, a Northeast Kansas native, while in optometry school. They have a son, Brooks, and a daughter, Everly.
